Today marks an important milestone for the Slovenia Biotech Hills Institute.

We are pleased to announce that the President of the Institute’s Council, Boštjan Čeh, has signed an employment agreement with Anuša Gaši, who officially assumes the position of Director of Slovenia Biotech Hills as of today on a full-time basis.

Anuša Gaši was selected through a formal recruitment process conducted via a public call. She will lead the institute with a four-year mandate, with the possibility of extension, and represent the institute in accordance with its statutory provisions.

Her appointment represents an important step in the further professionalisation, and growth of the ecosystem represented by Slovenia Biotech Hills. With this, we are entering the next phase of development, focused on strengthening organisational capacities, expanding activities, further professionalisation, and deepening our impact both in Slovenia and internationally.

Slovenia Biotech Hills will continue to strengthen its role as a platform that connects and supports strategic partners, supporters and members in Slovenia and abroad, while contributing to the development of a dynamic ecosystem of biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovation in Slovenia and beyond.

On behalf of the entire initiative, we would also like to thank Nik Prebil, who served as Director during the agreed transitional period, for his important contribution during the institute’s key establishment phase. Over the past year and a half, he helped lay the foundations of the organisation and played an important role in connecting key stakeholders within the Slovenian biotechnology and pharmaceutical ecosystem — including companies, research and academic institutions, and representatives of the public sector.
